Have you ever dreamed of knitting or crocheting a beautiful shawl? This fall, we invite you to embark on a Journey of Yarn Shawl—a three month, four-shop experience that combines creativity, community, and the joy of crafting.

How It Works:

Visit Four Unique Yarn Shops: Over the course of 8 weeks, you’ll visit one of our four participating shops — a new shop every two weeks.

At each shop, you’ll pick up a unique section of your shawl pattern and purchase the yarn needed for that portion.

Create Your Masterpiece:

Work on knitting or crocheting your shawl section by section, using the yarn from each shop. By the end of the event, you’ll have crafted a stunning shawl that combines the best yarns from all four stores.

Choose between the knitting or crochet version of the Journey of Yarn Shawl pattern, tailored to your crafting preference.

Interactive Events & Community:

Participants get access to live Zoom tutorials where expert crafters will guide you through each section of the pattern. You can either join us for the Zoom call or gather in-person at the different shops to share your progress, meet fellow participants, and enjoy the community spirit!

Commonly Asked Questions:

• What weight of yarn will we be using? We will be using DK weight yarn to ensure this is a quick project and can be easily completed within the duration of the event. Curious to see what DK weight yarn we have? Click here
• Will we get to see the pattern before the event? Shhh, it’s a secret! You won’t be able to see the completed pattern until you visit the last shop in the event. Each shop you visit will have the samples made up to the point of the current clue. This way, when you’re choosing your yarn at the shop, you can see the section you will be knitting next.
• Are there any prizes or giveaways? Yes! Each shop will have a special giveaway for those who complete their shawl and post it on social media with the hashtag #JourneyofYarnShawl
• How will I know what shops to go to and when to pick up my patterns? Upon registration, you will receive an email with all the details, including which weeks to visit, which shops and what you’ll be picking up.
• Can I use my own yarn for this event? Unfortunately, to fully participate in this event, you will need to purchase a DK weight skein of yarn at each shop when you pick up your pattern clue. Each shop is going to have a variety of yarn bases for you to choose from, spanning budgets and styles.
• With my registration and pattern, what else is included? Your registration includes access to virtual and/or in-person meetings, and the chance to win prizes.
• I am a beginner; is this shawl going to be too hard for me? No, we’re keeping this pattern beautiful but simple so a beginner knitter or crocheter will feel comfortable participating and making the shawl.
